Youth Programs

Casper Mountain Biathlon Club Youth Programs consist of three offerings: Introductory Programs, Youth Development Program and Competitions. Our utmost goal in our youth programs is to instill the Olympic ideals of excellence, friendship and respect. Please visit the Casper Mountain calendar to see what events are coming up. Introductory Programs

CMBC offers many Introductory Programs for youth throughout the year. Every June CMBC partners with the Casper Recreation Center to host an Olympic Day which highlights the sport of biathlon. The event introduces over 125 Casper youth to the sport of biathlon with hands on demonstration and the opportunity to meet an Olympian in the sport. CMBC also works with the Natrona County School District to offer biathlon to students throughout the school district. Students bus up to the Biathlon Center and receive a ski lesson in addition to a lesson on the basics of biathlon shooting using electronic infrared rifles. Jan 2017 to date, CMBC served over 600 youth in introductory programs.

Youth Development Programs

The Youth Development Program is a group of dedicated athletes committed to biathlon and cross country ski training and competition year round. In the upcoming year, members of the CMBC Youth Development team will be competing in US Biathlon Junior World Trials, U.S. Biathlon Nationals as well as regional races in Winter Park, CO, Lander, WY and West Yellowstone MT. Athletes also compete in High Plains Cross Country Ski Junior National Qualifiers and U.S. Ski and Snowboard races. After the winter season ends, they enjoy a full schedule of summer running, roller skiing and mountain bike biathlon races and training.

Every year, CMBC hosts several local competitions. In addition to our local races, CMBC supports athletes at regional and national level competitions. Check out our calendar to see what is coming up next.
